MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Blueberry Pediatrics, the leading 24/7 virtual and AI-enabled pediatric care company redefining how families access healthcare, today announced the appointment of Henry Schumann as Chief Financial Officer. The move reinforces Blueberry’s position as both a high-growth innovator and a permanent, large-scale partner for the nation's major payers, particularly in Medicaid and with employer health plans.
Schumann joins Blueberry with over 30 years of experience in financial leadership, including a pivotal seven-year tenure at Allscripts Healthcare Solutions. During his time there, he led financial oversight for the international business unit and provided critical pricing support for RFP responses exceeding $100M in value. Most recently, he served as VP of Finance at FM:Systems, where he was instrumental in executing the financial strategy and due diligence that led to a successful private equity exit.
“Blueberry is scaling faster than at any point in our history, and that growth demands a level of financial sophistication that matches our clinical and technological ambition,” said Rich Berner, CEO of Blueberry Pediatrics. “Henry brings the disciplined financial acumen we need to support national payer expansion, but what truly sets him apart is his passion for our mission. He understands that building a resilient fiscal foundation is inseparable from expanding access to high‑quality pediatric care for every family.”
While many in the digital health space face volatility, Blueberry’s hire of a transaction and M&A specialist signals a focus on capital efficiency and sustainable operations. As Blueberry’s financial steward, Schumann will facilitate the company’s next growth phase, expanding their reach to more children across all 50 states.
“Blueberry has already proven its clinical model can drive significant impact for both families and our health plan clients,” said Henry Schumann, incoming CFO. “My focus is to ensure our financial operations are as innovative and scalable as our technology. We are building the infrastructure to support hundreds of thousands of additional lives served while maintaining the fiscal discipline that our board and our health plan clients require.”
The appointment of Schumann further secures Blueberry’s leadership evolution, following the recent transitions of Rich Berner to CEO and Mike Waters to Executive Chairman. This reinforced leadership team solidifies Blueberry’s role as a permanent, enterprise-grade partner dedicated to making expert pediatric care accessible and affordable for every family in the country.
